Meridian Health Accolades for Outstanding Care
Gold Recognition by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for Organ Donor Enrollment
Hackensack Meridian Health is part of a national hospital campaign sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) promoting achievement for enrollment in state organ donor registries.
Of the 995 hospitals and transplant centers participating in the campaign, Bayshore Community Hospital, HackensackUMC Mountainside, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Ocean Medical Center and Riverview Medical Center received gold level recognition.
Hackensack University Medical Center received platinum level recognition. Silver level was presented to HackensackUMC Palisades, Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy and Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge, and HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley attained bronze level recognition.
Magnet award for nursing excellence
The hospitals of Meridian Health are the first in the region to have received the prestigious Magnet award for nursing excellence three times.
The Magnet award is bestowed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the nation's largest and foremost nursing accrediting and credentialing organization.
Recipient of Commission on Cancer (CoC) Outstanding Achievement Award
The Cancer Center at Riverview Medical Center, part of Meridian Cancer Care, has been named a recipient of the 2012 Commission on Cancer (CoC) Outstanding Achievement Award. The award recognizes the outstanding effort and commitment of the cancer team for providing high quality cancer care to our patients. Riverview's program was one of 79 nation-wide to achieve the award in 2012, and was evaluated on 29 program standards categorized within one of four cancer program activities, including: cancer committee leadership, cancer data management, clinical services, and quality improvement.
Joint Commission Disease-Specific Care Certification
The Total Joint Center at Riverview is certified by the Joint Commission as a Center of Excellence and has been awarded Disease-Specific Care Certification by the Joint Commission for total knee and total hip replacement as well as spine treatment services.
U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals
Riverview Medical Center, a member of Meridian Health, is included in the 2015-2016 Best Hospitals metro area rankings released by U.S. News & World Report.

The Region's Only CARF-accredited Acute Rehabilitation Center
Riverview Rehabilitation Center is a state-of-the-art 30-bed, inpatient physical rehabilitation facility conveniently located in Riverview Medical Center. Its superior services have earned the center the elite designation as Monmouth County's only fully-accredited inpatient rehab facility. It's one of only two centers in the state that is CARF-accredited (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) for treating stroke patients.
2013 Get with the Guidelines Stroke Performance Achievement
The American Heart Association and American Stroke Association recognize Riverview Medical Center for achieving 85% or higher adherence to all Get with the Guidelines® Stroke Performance Achievement indicators for consecutive 12 month intervals and 75% or higher compliance with 5 of 8 Get with the Guideline Stroke Quality Measures to improve quality of patient care and outcomes in addition to achieving Time to Intravenous Thrombolytic Therapy <60 minutes in 50% or more of applicable acute ischemic stroke patients (minimum of 6) during one calendar quarter.
Accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR)
All modalities offered through our diagnostic imaging department at Riverview have received ACR accreditation.
The ACR is a national professional organization serving more than 34,000 diagnostic/interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology, and the delivery of comprehensive health care services.
American Heart Association's Mission: Lifeline® Heart Attack Receiving Center Accreditation
Riverview Medical Center and Jersey Shore University Medical Center, both part of Meridian CardioVascular Network, are the first hospitals in New Jersey to receive the American Heart Association's Mission: Lifeline® Heart Attack Receiving Center Accreditation.
The accreditation program — sponsored by the American Heart Association and the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care —recognizes centers that meet or exceed quality of care measures for people experiencing the most severe type of heart attack, ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), in which blood flow is completely blocked to a portion of the heart. Jersey Shore and Riverview underwent numerous on-site reviews by accreditation specialists from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care.

For the eighth year in a row, Soliant Health turned to hospital staff, patients, and fellow supporters to determine the Top 20 hospitals worthy of the "Most Beautiful Hospitals in the U.S." distinction. Riverview Medical Center ranked Number 5 on Soliant Health's list.
