Ambulatory Pharmacy


An RX for Convenience

Introducing the NEW Ambulatory Pharmacy at Riverview Medical Center

We want to make your transition back home seamless and convenient. With our NEW ambulatory pharmacy, you can fill your prescription and ask questions about your medication before you leave the hospital.

Our ambulatory pharmacy can fill prescriptions during your hospital visit. A pharmacy liaison will visit to fill your prescription as well as provide education about the medication and, based upon timing, deliver it to your bedside or make it available for pick-up at our pharmacy upon discharge.

This service is available from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and is located on the first floor next to the Chapel in the Marshall Pavilion. Most prescription plans are accepted and we accept cash, check, or debit/credit.

Food & Beverage

Patient Food Service
While meal service times can vary from unit to unit, the general hours of meal service are:

  • Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
  • Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Dinner: 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Our Food and Nutrition Services team members play an important role in your recovery and continued good health by making sure the nutritional requirements from your physician are being met.

Each morning, you will receive a menu on your meal tray that allows you to choose what food you would like to eat for the following day's breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A nutrition technician will pick up your menu each day.

There are times when substitutions must be made if an item selected becomes unavailable during the course of the day. If you are on a special diet, food will be prepared to your doctor's orders. The nutrition technician or registered dietician will explain any restrictions to you.

Late trays are provided for patients whose diagnostic tests occur during scheduled mealtimes. In addition, kosher meals are offered if you require them for dietary or religious reasons.

Please do not accept food from home unless you have first checked with your physician or the Food and Nutrition Services team. 

Dunkin' Donuts
Located in the Marshall Pavilion, the restaurant carries Dunkin' Donuts full line of products, including the light DD Smart menu.  Open Everyday from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m..


Chapel

The Chapel located in the Marshall Pavilion, also serves as a meditation room. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week to patients, visitors and hospital staff. Additionally, our Pastoral Care Department identifies and responds to the spiritual needs of our patients, their families, and staff. 

To request a visit from the chaplain or another member of the Pastoral Care team, ask your nurse to page Pastoral Care.


Concierge Care

Concierge Care is a complimentary service, available to all patients and guests of the Medical Center designed to address non-clinical needs. Concierge Care is available seven days a week from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with an answering service for after-hours requests. Gift Shop

Our gift shop offers a wide variety of flowers & gifts to brighten patient's stays. Long distance well-wishers and those unable to leave their rooms are invited to use the Gift Shop's delivery service by dialing 732-530-2465, to have the purchase directly to the patient's room – with no delivery charge.  

The Gift Shop is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Hospitality & Magazine Carts

Our volunteers periodically bring a cart to each floor with reading materials, candies, and gift items. 


Mail, Packages, & Flowers

Any deliveries will be brought directly to your room. Mail received after discharge will be forwarded to your home. Please give any outgoing mail to your nurse.


Notary Public

Services are available by appointment. Contact Guest Relations for more information.


Patient Rooms

The room that you are in allows us to provide the best care possible to fit your medical needs. If there is a change in your condition that requires a different type of care, we may need to move you to another room. Please speak with your nurse if you have any concerns or questions about possible room relocations.

Private Rooms
We know that if given a choice, most patients would prefer a private room. While there are a limited number of private rooms at Riverview  Medical Center, most of the rooms are semi-private or shared rooms.

At any time during your stay with us, you may request a private room. We will make every effort to accommodate that request, but please note that private rooms cost more than semi-private rooms and insurance companies may not pay the difference.

Room Cleaning
Your room and bathroom will be cleaned and trash emptied on a daily basis. We also provide Turndown Service as time permits after 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you need additional cleaning service, contact our Environmental Services staff or alert your nurse.


Telephones

For your convenience, a telephone is provided in each room as a complimentary amenity. The telephone will allow you to receive incoming telephone calls from outside the Medical Center and to dial anywhere within the state of New Jersey without charge.

  • NJ calls to area code 732, Dial 9 + 732 + Telephone Number
  • All other NJ area codes and Toll-Free, Dial 9 + 1 + Area Code + Number
  • All Interstate Calls, Dial 9 and follow instructions on your calling card or prepaid telephone card.
  • Calls within the Medical Center, Dial the extension number or "0" for Operator.
  • Phone problems, Notify your nurse.

Cellular Phones
While cell phone use is permitted, for the comfort of our patients at Riverview Medical Center, we ask that usage be limited to lobby areas, the cafeteria, and outside the Medical Center. Please refrain from using cell phones in patient rooms, waiting areas, elevators, and other areas that might disrupt other patients.


Television

A remote-controlled television is provided in each room free of charge.

Patients televisions can be adapted to allow closed-captioned viewing upon request. For assistance or to report any problems, please contact Guest Relations.


WiFi / Internet Access

WiFi is available throughout the Medical Center, and guests are able to access this service via a personal computer. Please note this is a public wireless access system and should not be used to transmit or access secure information. In addition, you will find certain Web sites are blocked by the Medical Center for policy reasons.
