The John B. Movelle, M.D. Library (Riverview Medical Center)
The John B. Movelle, M.D. Library, at Riverview Medical Center, provides resources in print, non-print and electronic formats to meet the information, education and research needs of the RMC community, including physicians, nurses, other health care professionals, managers, administrators, team members, students, the public, patients and their families.
The John B. Movelle, M.D. Library was dedicated on February 4, 2004 in celebration and recognition of John B. Movelle, M.D. Dr. Movelle quietly served this community as a Riverview family physician for more than 50 years. More than 135 individuals and families have contributed to the library fund, all of whom wanted to honor Dr. Movelle for his care and dedication to our community. Generous donations by the Riverview Medical Staff also contribute to library funding.

- Location
The library is located in the J. Marshall Booker Pavilion of Riverview Medical Center, first floor, near the cafeteria.
- Collection
The collection includes over 2,300 books, 135 journals in print, and 1,000 audiovisuals. The library also provides access to approximately 560 full-text electronic journals, and over 120 full-text electronic books via a range of databases and internet sites. This includes access to the National Library of Medicine's free digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature, Pub Med Central, and the National Library of Medicine's collection of electronic books via the NCBI bookshelf.
- Computers
There are 4 computers for patron use on a first-come, first-served basis. Each computer has Internet access, bibliographic databases in medicine (MEDLINE), nursing (CINAHL), health administration (HealthSTAR), bioethics, evidence-based medicine, consumer health , Microsoft's Word (word processing), Excel (spreadsheet), PowerPoint (presentation), and DxPlain (clinical decision support software).
