High Tea Helps Bones

There is evidence that regular coffee drinkers are more likely to have weak bones. That's because of all the caffeine in java.

However, tea — even though it contains some caffeine — may be good for bones. One study suggests that tea may even protect against osteoporosis.

Researchers studied more than 1,200 women ages 65 to 76. Those who were daily tea drinkers had stronger bones than those who didn't drink tea daily. However, the number of cups that the women drank each day didn't matter.

The secret ingredient? Nutrients called flavonoids in tea may help protect bones.
