"Eating Well, Being Well"

There is a lot of nutrition information out there. It's sometimes hard to figure out what the truth is. Riverview Medical Center now offers you the chance to meet one-to-one with a nutrition expert!

Who is a Registered Dietitian and how can they help?
A registered dietitian is a health care professional who provides reliable, objective nutrition information. They separate facts from fads and translate the latest scientific findings into easy-to-understand nutrition information. Registered dietitians have completed academic requirements established by the American Dietetic Association's credentialing agency. This includes passing a national exam and continuing their professional education.

Good nutrition can help you to feel better, look better and perform better.
There are many reasons to meet with our Registered Dietitian including:

  • Weight Management
  • Food allergies or intolerances (dairy, wheat, nuts, etc.)
  • Nutritional needs before, during or after pregnancy
  • Heart Healthy Nutrition
  • High Cholesterol
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Diverticulitis, or other digestive problems
  • Kidney disease
  • Celiac disease
  • Crohn's disease

Getting Started
Once you receive your prescription from your family doctor you can call us at 732-450-2726 to set up your initial one hour appointment. If you haven’t seen your doctor but you want to know more about the program you can call us and we’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have. Once you have scheduled your appointment, look over the Welcome Letter, you will need to fill out the Medical Nutrition Therapy Outpatient Questionnaire and bring it with you, and we have included information about the billing process.

We look forward to guiding you towards a healthier lifestyle. Please remember a physician prescription is required for this service.
