Surgical Day Stay
Surgical Day Stay is an outpatient service for surgical patients undergoing same day surgery that will go home in less than 24 hours, as well as preparing patients who will be admitted to the medical center after more extensive surgical procedures.
What is Surgical Day Stay?
Many procedures can be done on an ambulatory basis, meaning that patients will go home less than 24 hours after surgery. A variety of cases fit into that category, including general surgical procedures as well as specialty cases including: orthopedic, spine, neurology, plastic surgery, ear/nose/throat, obstetrics/gynecology, podiatry, thoracic, vascular, ophthalmology, urology, dental and gastroenterology. Patients can receive a variety of anesthesia: local, epidural, spinal, monitored anesthesia, conscious sedation and general anesthesia.

Working with other members of the health care team, the needs of each patient are carefully considered. All patients receive education before and after their procedure, emotional support for the patient and his/her loved ones, pain management, and detailed discharge instructions for the patient and their family.
