Expertise
The multidisciplinary team includes vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists and interventional cardiologists. These specialists have access to the latest technology, a team of Magnet recognized nurses and expertly trained technicians, including a Registered Vascular Technician, and support staff. Additionally, the Vascular Team works closely with the Stroke Team and Emergency Care Team to ensure care is coordinated in emergent and non-emergent situations. Learn more about our Vascular Team.

Advanced Technology
At Riverview, our physicians have access to the latest technology to diagnose and treat patients with vascular disease. Our Diagnostic Imaging Center gives our team the ability to diagnose and treat numerous types of medical conditions by using imaging techniques to guide them as they thread narrow tubes (catheters) and other very small instruments through blood vessels and other pathways of the body to the site of a problem.

The medical center is also home to a high risk Cardiac Catheterization Lab which allows our specially trained cardiologists to treat some of the most difficult cardiac cases with effective technology and expertise.

Finally, Riverview’s new Endovascular Suite gives the multi-disciplinary Vascular Team the ability to conduct minimally invasive procedures to treat a wide range of clinical problems including stroke, carotid artery disease, abdominal aortic aneurysms and other peripheral vascular disorders through procedures such as diagnostic catheterizations, stenting, balloon angioplasty, and embolizations. It also means less radiation exposure for the patient, reduced recovery time without the pain of a large incision, and less visible surgical scarring.

Riverview also brings together other programs and services to support the treatment of CVD such as an accredited Chest Pain Center, a state designated Primary Stroke Center, a J.D. Power and Associates "Distinguished" Emergency Care Center with the ability to perform emergency angioplasty, and an outstanding Cardiac Rehabilitation Center to help patients get back to their life.
