Cancer Center

The cancer experience can weigh heavily on the emotions and psychology of patients and their families. The support services of our Cancer Program include support groups for patients, family members, and caregivers.

Our support groups include:

Adult Art Therapy
New Impressions, an open art studio for adult outpatient oncology patients, meets Thursday mornings from 1 to 3 p.m. Sessions are held at Riverview Medical Center, and there is no fee to participants for this grant funded program. Breast Cancer Support Group
This group is for newly diagnosed, those under treatment, and breast cancer survivors. The group is held on first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the 4th floor diagnostics area at Riverview Medical Center. Children’s Art Therapy
This is a seven-week group for children 4 1/2 -13 years. Children are grouped by age range. Two types of groups: bereavement and living with a chronically ill family member.
