Surgical approaches to breast cancer have changed dramatically. Today, surgeons are able to spare more of the healthy tissue and can offer more extensive reconstructive options. When appropriate, lumpectomy techniques are utilized for breast-conservation cancer surgery. However, when a lumpectomy is not an option, our breast surgeons and plastic surgeons work very closely to provide the patient with a most positive cosmetic outcome.
Our breast surgeons offer multiple advanced breast surgery procedures, including the Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator (DIEP) Flap Procedure. Similar to all flap reconstruction techniques, the DIEP flap procedure uses a patient’s own tissue to reconstruct a natural breast following a mastectomy.
Breast surgery procedures include:
- Autologous Augmentation
- Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator (DIEP) Flap Procedure
- Mastectomy (Single or Double)
- Superior Gluteal Artery Perforator Flap
- Superficial Inferior Epigastric Artery Flap
- Tram Flap (Muscle Sparing TRAM Flap)
- Treatment of Lumpectomy Defects
